The Youth Platform (“TYP”, “we”) runs this membership portal for young people. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights over it.

Information we collect

• Membership details — your name, email, phone number, country, province/district, focus area and profile photo.
• Verification documents — if you choose to verify your account, identity or supporting documents (e.g. national ID, certificates). These are stored privately and are not publicly accessible; only you and authorised TYP reviewers can view them.
• Activity — event registrations and tickets, course progress and certificates, votes you cast, opportunities you save, points you earn, and notifications.

How we use it

To create and manage your membership, verify identity where you request it, run events and learning, enable participation (e.g. elections and polls), send you relevant notifications, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal data.

Children and young people

TYP serves youth, and some members are under 18. If you are under 18, please register with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian. We aim to collect the minimum information needed, and a parent/guardian may contact us to review or remove a young person's data.

Retention

We keep your information for as long as your membership is active. Verification documents are retained only as long as needed for review and are removed when you delete your account.

Your rights

• Access & correction — view and update your details from your profile.
• Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and personal data at any time from Edit profile.
• Consent — you may withdraw consent by deleting your account.
